Srinagar, Dec 12 (KNO): The National Institute of Sowa Rigpa (in Leh is functioning with about half its sanctioned posts vacant, Union Ministry of Ayush informed the Lok Sabha on Friday. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the ministry informed the house that NISR has 56 sanctioned posts of which 27 are filled and 29 positions remain vacant—reflecting persistent gaps in faculty and administrative manpower at Ladakh’s premier traditional medicine institute. The ministry also said vacancy levels fluctuate due to ongoing recruitment processes, retirements and administrative factors. The information was shared in response to a question on vacant positions across all Ayush institutions in the country. The reply also reveals that the number of contractual employees engaged by the Ministry varies from time to time depending on institutional requirements. NISR Leh is the only AYUSH institution listed from Ladakh in the parliamentary response—(KNO)
